We're Not Building a Walled Garden. We're Building a Layer.

Most AI companies tell you the same story. Everything you need is inside our product. Stay in our app. Use our chat. Trust the magic.

We're going the other way. This week we released our API documentation. It follows last month's MCP server launch, with A2A (Agent-to-Agent) shipping later this month. Three releases, one direction. VaultSage is meant to be built on, not just used.

Here's why that matters.

The All-in-One AI Trap

Almost every enterprise AI tool launched in the last two years has tried to become a destination. A new chat interface. A new dashboard. Another place to log in.

But real work doesn't happen in one place. It happens across Slack, email, CRMs, internal tools, custom workflows, and a long tail of systems nobody has the budget to replace. AI tools that demand you come to them get used for two weeks and quietly forgotten.

According to MuleSoft's 2026 Connectivity Benchmark, only 27% of enterprise applications are integrated. 86% of IT leaders warn that without proper integration, agents add more complexity than value. Stacking another isolated AI tool on top of that pile solves nothing. It just adds a tab.

The companies that win the next phase of AI won't have the prettiest interfaces. They'll be the ones whose capabilities show up where work is already happening.

What "Buildable" Actually Means

VaultSage works as a foundation for the same reason we exist in the first place. Documents are the bottleneck for every AI workflow.

Before an agent can act, it has to read. Before it can read, a file has to become something an LLM can actually understand. That's true whether it's a scanned freight invoice from 2018, a mixed-language contract, or a 300-page regulatory PDF.

We spent the last year building that ingestion and structuring layer. Now we're exposing it three ways.

MCP Server (live). Already running at mcp.vaultsage.ai. If you're building an AI agent in Claude, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible environment, you can plug VaultSage's document understanding directly into your agent. No reimplementing OCR. No custom parsers for every PDF format. Connect once, and your agent has access to your entire document universe.

REST API (live this week). Docs at api.vault.nurie.ai/redoc Built for teams that want full control. Custom upload workflows, programmatic document interaction, AI-powered Q&A embedded inside an existing product. The API exposes the same capabilities as the VaultSage app, directly.

A2A (later this month). For agent-to-agent workflows. Your agent talks to ours. Ours returns structured, AI-ready context. Multi-agent systems can coordinate around shared document understanding without each one rebuilding the ingestion layer from scratch.

What You Can Actually Build

A couple of patterns we're already seeing.

A trading company pipes scanned shipping documents and invoices through the VaultSage API into their own internal agent, which routes shipments and flags anomalies. They didn't build the OCR layer. They built the logic on top.

A SaaS team adding AI features to their product used the API to ship "ask your PDF" functionality in under a week. They didn't have to become a document AI company. They borrowed the layer.

Builders Are Already Shipping: Visionary AI 2026

We wanted to see what builders would actually make. So we launched Visionary AI: NURIE.AI 2026 Cross-Platform Innovation Awards. Right now, developers across Korea and Taiwan are building web apps, mobile apps, browser extensions, and desktop applications on the VaultSage API.

The competition has one core principle: it's AI-friendly. You can write every line yourself, or you can let AI agents (Claude, Cursor, whatever you use) do the heavy lifting. Both paths are encouraged. Whether you're coding from scratch or vibe-coding your vision into reality, we want to see what you can build. That's what AI-native development looks like to us.

Demo Day is next month. We'll share what came out of it.

Why We're Doing It This Way

Two beliefs shape this.

First, the value of AI isn't in the model. It's in what the model can see. Companies that make their domain knowledge AI-readable will outcompete the ones that don't. Most of them won't have time to build the ingestion layer themselves. Someone has to.

Second, the future isn't one app per task. It's an ecosystem of agents and tools that coordinate around shared context. The systems that survive will be the ones designed to compose, not the ones designed to lock you in.

A walled garden is a defensible business until the walls become the reason nobody comes in.

We'd rather be the foundation.
